PDRI-Dja: 27.4 billion FCFA from the IDB to transform the rural areas

The Minister of Economy Alamine Ousmane Mey signed on September 14, 2026, in Yaoundé with the Islamic Development Bank, loan agreements of 41.92 million euros, or 27.4 billion FCFA, intended to finance the Integrated Rural Development Project of Dja.

This is a major boost for the rural world. As part of the implementation of the instructions of the Head of State and on the sidelines of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Group Day, the Minister of Economy, Planning and Regional Development, Alamine Ousmane Mey, signed on September 14, 2026, loan agreements with the IDB amounting to 27.4 billion FCFA for the PDRI-Dja.
The Project aims to strengthen agro-pastoral value chains and promote sustainable production, contributing to food security and growth.
It will intervene in five strategic sectors: plantain, cassava, maize, fish, and poultry, through targeted actions on production, processing, and marketing.
Special attention will be given to young farmers, who will benefit from adapted resources, technical support, and employment opportunities.
Through this investment, the Government intends to modernize the rural sector and stimulate agricultural entrepreneurship in accordance with the orientations of the SND30 for an inclusive and resilient economy.
