
Placed under the theme “Investing in peace for all, everywhere, every day,” the 45th edition of the International Day of Peace was launched on September 16, 2026, by a national Hangout bringing together administrations, defense forces, civil society, and the diaspora to reflect on consolidating peace in Cameroon.

How to consolidate peace every day, on all fronts? This is the central question of the Hangout organized on September 16, 2026, for the launch of the International Day of Peace activities.
Opening the discussions on behalf of the Minister of Youth and Civic Education, Paschal Kum Awah, Inspector General of Teaching and Training Programs and Methods, wished for frank, constructive exchanges that bring hope to the country.
Each administration presented its field of action. MINESEC and MINEDUB focus on civic and moral education at school, extracurricular activities, and strengthening civism. The National Gendarmerie and National Police recall their mission to secure people and property, supported by awareness-raising against violence.
The National Youth Council (CNJC) highlighted its dialogue platform where young people are consulted on femicides and all kinds of violence.

On the side of civil society, Local Youth Corner presented the Youth, Peace and Security Agenda and its concept “N’a We We Jamboree,” which is set to expand to the ten regions. NewSETA recalled its work promoting the values of peace and democracy since 2013, while Women in Alternative Actions cited its national peace camp and its “Queens for Peace” program.
From Mexico, Dr. Nsoh Joseph, Ambassador of PARI-JEDI, emphasized that peace is first built within the family. UNESCO, for its part, summarized the UN approach around the empowerment of youth, women, and the fight against misinformation.
A consensus: peace is built every day, at school, in the family, and in the diaspora.
