This mission is staying in Cameroon as part of the periodic review of the national macroeconomic and budgetary framework, in accordance with the statutory provisions applicable to all member states.

The discussions focused on the recent developments in the Cameroonian economy, macroeconomic prospects, the state of public finances, debt sustainability, as well as the budgetary orientations envisaged by the Government.

Important point: this meeting takes place after the completion, in July 2025, of the 2021-2025 Economic and Financial Program concluded with the IMF. Cameroon is therefore no longer under a program with this institution.

The mission is thus part of the regular dialogue and economic surveillance provided for by Article IV of the IMF Statutes, and not part of a review conditioning a disbursement.

The session made it possible to take stock of the achievements of the cooperation, to examine the persistent challenges, and to gather the IMF’s observations to preserve macroeconomic stability and support sustainable and inclusive growth.
