The Cameroon – World Bank partnership is strengthening. On September 8, 2026, the Minister of Economy, Planning and Regional Development, Alamine Ousmane Mey, granted an audience to Harold Tavares, Director of the World Bank Africa Group II.
The two men reviewed cooperation prospects and development priorities with strong economic and social impact. The stated goal: more effective public action and accelerated implementation of the National Development Strategy for 2030 (SND30).

This meeting took place following Harold Tavares’s visit to the Nachtigal hydroelectric dam construction site. With a capacity of 420 MW, this infrastructure financed with the support of the World Bank illustrates the shift towards structural investments to reduce the energy deficit and support the country’s industrial transformation.
