The Minister of Water and Energy Gaston Eloundou Essomba, Camwater and the Autonomous Port of Kribi through their directors general Blaise Moussa and Patrice Melom, appreciated the level of progress of the site on August 19, 2026.
The implementation of the drinking water supply project for the Autonomous Port of Kribi is entering its final phase. The works show a completion rate of 95%. The remaining tasks concern finishing, verifications, technical tests, and commissioning operations of the various installations.
The observation was made on August 19, 2026, during the site visit carried out by the Minister of Water and Energy accompanied by the directors general of the Autonomous Port of Kribi and Camwater. During this visit, the ministerial delegation toured the different components of the infrastructure and measured the efforts made to set up the drinking water supply system at the port. The government member made the trip to closely monitor the project for which a partnership links Camwater and the Autonomous Port of Kribi.
Signed on October 29, 2023, the memorandum of understanding between the two parties clarifies the terms of their collaboration regarding the provision of the public service of drinking water and liquid sanitation at the port. The agreement includes all current and future port activities related to water supply and sanitation. The physical materialization of this partnership is found in the infrastructure in its final phase, intended to supply water to the port area expected to develop as port activities intensify.
At this stage of the site, Camwater continues its commitment by completing the works. The concessionaire is also preparing the technical and operational conditions to ensure optimal and sustainable operation of the facilities, as indicated by the company itself. The aim is to respond to water needs in the area and to strengthen access to drinking water.
