From August 3 to 10, 2027, the Bameka Grouping in the Highlands will vibrate to the rhythm of the 6th edition of the Ka’a Ndeh Mu’nka Festival. Held under the theme “Cultural Heritage and Catalyst for Development for the Sustainable Radiance of the Bameka Grouping,” the event received official support from the Ministry of Arts and Culture on August 19, 2026.
Bameka culture takes center stage. The Honorable NGOKO MAMBE Marie-Louise Epse TCHOUANTE, Member of the National Assembly, was received in audience on August 19, 2026, by the Minister of Arts and Culture, accompanied by a strong delegation from the festival’s technical organizing committee.
Purpose of the visit: to present the outline of this 6th edition and request institutional sponsorship from the State.
Scheduled from August 3 to 10, 2027, in the Bameka Grouping, Highlands Department, Western Region, the event aims to make heritage a lever. On the program:
Cultural and craft exhibitions to highlight local know-how; Traditional dances and ancestral rites; Cultural conferences and debates on living together; Sports and tourism activities; Artistic and gastronomic animations to celebrate Bameka identity “The goal is to enhance our cultural, artistic, and tourist heritage around traditional values and local development,” emphasized the Member of Parliament.
The Minister praised the initiative of His Majesty the Chief of the Bameka Grouping who, according to him, values the cultural richness of the Bameka people and Cameroon as a whole.
Specifically, the MINAC commits on several fronts:
Official sponsorship of the 6th edition; Institutional and technical support; Inventory and documentation of dances, rites, tales, and local know-how; Advice for the conservation of traditional objects and costumes; Identification and labeling of local artists and artistic groups; Methodological support for artistic programming to ensure authenticity and quality; National visibility through the ministry’s communication channels.
A technical committee from MINAC services will be set up to monitor and support the organizing committee until 2027.
At the end of the audience, the guests presented the Minister with an important gift, a strong symbol of Bameka tradition. The date is set: from August 3 to 10, 2027, in Bameka. Heritage will speak.
