In Bertoua, the Ministry of SMEs launched a large workshop on August 25, 2026, to support very small businesses and artisans in the East towards standardization. Objective: to make local products certified, competitive, and exportable.
Quality as a passport to markets. This is the bet of MINPMEESA in the East Region. On August 25, 2026, the ministry brought together promoters of VSBs, cooperatives, and artisan processors in Bertoua for a practical workshop on certification.
The challenge is major: without standards, no access to supermarkets or export. Many local products, although of quality, remain blocked due to non-compliant labeling or missing analyses.

The program was therefore very operational. Awareness of the issues of standardization, step-by-step presentation of the certification process, but above all on-site sampling for microbiological, physico-chemical, and organoleptic analyses. Experts from ANOR and LANACOME also checked labeling and conducted diagnostic visits in production units.

Beyond the workshop, it is a national strategy at play: making quality a lever for professionalization and industrialization. Certified products mean more trust for the consumer, more income for the artisan, and one more step to impose Made in Cameroon on national and international markets.
