50 million dollars, 3 strategic pillars, a partnership since 1969. The UNFPA Board of Directors approved on August 27, 2026 in New York the 9th Cooperation Program with Cameroon (2027-2031), aligned with the SND30 and the UNSDCF.
This is the official clearance. The UNFPA Board of Directors validated on August 27, 2026 the new Country Cooperation Program (CPD9) focused on the well-being of populations and the demographic dividend.
The result of a consultation led by MINEPAT and MINREX in alignment with the UNSDCF 2027-2031 framework and the National Development Strategy SND30, the program perpetuates a historic partnership initiated in 1969.

Presenting the government’s endorsement in New York, the Permanent Mission of Cameroon declared: “My delegation notes with satisfaction the alignment of the document with the SND30 and the UNSDCF framework. The Government expresses its strong support for the 9th Country Program and invites the Board to approve it.”
With an indicative budget of 50 million USD, CPD9 targets three pillars by 2031: quality care and reproductive health with universal access to family planning and reduction of maternal deaths, gender equality and empowerment with eradication of gender-based violence, and demographic data for informed public policies.

To support the expansion, Yaoundé offers a new modern headquarters to UNFPA, establishing itself as a key partner through the joint mobilization of MINEPAT, MINREX, MINSANTE, MINPROFF, MINJEC, and MINFI.
