On September 1, 2026, the evaluation and macroeconomic framing mission led by the teams of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC) Commission began, under the leadership of Mr. Jean Claude Nguemeni, accompanied by the Resident Representative and the Deputy Representative.

A mechanism at the heart of economic coordination among the six member states, namely Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, and Chad, multilateral surveillance aims to align national trajectories with community standards.
Three priority objectives structure the mission: ensure the convergence of budgetary and macroeconomic policies to strengthen the resilience of the zone, guarantee the stability of the common currency by maintaining financial balances, and strengthen budgetary discipline and transparency in public finance management.
The consultation held today at the Technical Committee for Monitoring Economic Programs (CTS), chaired by Mr. Jean Tchoffo, made it possible to define the strategic issues to be addressed and to validate the mission’s agenda.
