The Senate Bureau met on July 15, 2026, with the reorganization of the General Secretariat at the heart of its priorities. A new organizational chart is being prepared to improve administrative performance and support the transformation of the institution.
The Senate Bureau has taken a new step in its modernization program by examining the outlines of a reform of the General Secretariat. Considered the administrative pillar of the Upper Chamber, it should soon be equipped with a new organizational chart aimed at strengthening its efficiency, streamlining its operation, and better meeting the demands of parliamentary activity.
This reorganization is part of a broader desire to modernize internal governance and adapt the administration to current challenges. The goal is to have a more coherent structure, capable of providing better support for the Senate’s missions.
The Bureau also reaffirmed its commitment to the staff. Improving working and career conditions, as well as addressing files pending for several years, are now among the institution’s executive priorities.
Another strategic issue, the project to build the future Senate headquarters remains current. According to Vice-President Robert Nkili, this infrastructure responds to the Senate President’s desire to provide the Upper Chamber with a modern framework, in line with the demands of parliamentary shuttle and the ambitions of parliamentary diplomacy.
