The Ministry of Territorial Administration modernizes and strengthens its system dedicated to carrying out actions to promote bilingualism.
The unit dedicated to the promotion of French and English at the Ministry of Territorial Administration has just received new equipment to improve the quality of translation and interpretation. On August 7, the ministerial department under the authority of Minister Paul Atanga Nji received the new equipment, the cost of which is estimated at 50 million CFA francs.
The equipment will play an important role in staff training and improving the use of French and English in the ministry’s services as well as for decentralized services. The package consists of translation and interpretation kits with which the ministry intends to continue activities to strengthen the linguistic skills of the staff.
In this momentum of promoting and strengthening the use of the two official languages, the ministry has already started providing language courses to selected agents. They have passed the first stage of their training path following an initial continuous assessment worth 50% of the requirements to obtain the certificate of completion.

The initiative presents an opportunity for these agents called to progress within administrations where mastery of both languages is a personal asset and a requirement for the services. The obligation to use both languages fairly in public services thus leads the Ministry of Territorial Administration to complement language training by acquiring suitable equipment to improve the linguistic performance of the staff.
