ESIG : the 21st promotion confirms the prominence of military cooperation

In Yaoundé, the graduation of the 21st class of the International Higher War School highlighted the excellence of Cameroonian military training and the strength of defense partnerships with African and European countries.

The Minister Delegate to the Presidency in charge of Defense, Joseph Beti Assomo, presided on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, in Simbock, over the graduation ceremony of the 21st class of the International Higher War School (ESIG). The event was also marked by the presentation of Cameroonian and French decorations awarded for the July 2025 session.

In his opening address, the commander of ESIG, Brigadier General Valère Nka, praised the support of the Cameroonian authorities for the development of the institution, which has become a reference center for the training of high-level military executives.



The 2026 class, composed of 54 auditors, including eight women, from Cameroon and twenty-two partner countries in Africa and Europe, boasts a 100% success rate, with an overall average of 14/20. The diplomas were presented by Joseph Beti Assomo, the French Ambassador to Cameroon, and the Secretary of State for Defense in charge of the National Gendarmerie. Several distinctions rewarded the best profiles, particularly in geostrategy, Francophonie, and research.

Taking the floor, the minister praised the quality of military cooperation between Cameroon and its partners, while highlighting the multinational character of ESIG. He congratulated the school’s staff before inviting the new graduates to put their skills at the service of their respective armed forces, in a spirit of rigor, loyalty, and leadership.
