On August 11 and 12, 2026, the American military group in Yaoundé and the Ministry of Defense of Cameroon co-organized a seminar on the illicit use of cryptocurrencies, aiming to equip Cameroonian forces against criminal and terrorist networks in the digital age.

For two days, American experts from the FBI, DEA, AFRICOM Counter Drug Element, and Counter Threat Finance worked alongside officials from the Cameroonian law enforcement and military.
On the agenda: tracing illicit transactions, dismantling terrorism financing circuits, and combating transnational criminal networks that use digital assets to launder money.

For the United States, this cooperation illustrates “a continued commitment” alongside Cameroon.
