This is the question Father Arsène de la Miséricorde, a priest of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit of the Spiritans, tries to answer in his work “Is Love Not Enough?”, an essay dedicated to the realities often discovered too late in married life.
The book “Is Love Not Enough?” stems from the observation of a paradox. Initially, Anicet de la Misericorde wonders: “Why do couples who initially loved each other deeply end up hating each other with such energy?” Through his experience in pastoral care, accompaniment, and conflict mediation, the author has managed to diagnose and identify the obstacles that prevent couples from communicating and loving each other long-term. The goal is to prevent those who loved each other from ceasing to love each other over time. The work is aimed at fiancés and married couples alike, as well as anyone who aspires to marriage and wishes to build a fulfilling union.

The book signing session, organized on July 21, 2026, in Yaoundé, brought together priests, philosophers, psychotherapists, magistrates, and many faithful. The discussions were enriched by the testimony of a couple celebrating 20 years of marriage, who came to share their journey, marked by trials but also by perseverance and dialogue.
