
President Cabral Libii’s special advisor publicly announced on February 4, 2026, his decision to leave the Cameroonian Party for National Reconciliation (PCRN), opening a new chapter in his political engagement.
Fayçal Hamadou Demissala is no longer a member of the PCRN. Since last Wednesday, he has shared the news with the public through social channels. At a time when the Cameroonian Party for National Reconciliation is preparing for the legislative and municipal elections, it is losing the advisor to its president, the one who was in charge of the political formation’s strategy and territorial implantation. He was appointed to this position on September 1, 2025, on the eve of the presidential election, in which candidate Cabral Libii, the party’s president, ranked 3rd.

The former PCRN member leaves after having “served the party with loyalty, conviction, and a sense of responsibility,” he says. He states that he exercised his duties in a demanding political context, for the general interest and respect for democratic debate. Without specifying the exact reasons for his departure, Fayçal simply indicated that his decision stems from “deep personal and political reflection.” While thanking the party members, he announced the opening of a new chapter in which he will continue to write his story in service of the Cameroonian population.

The now former advisor to MP Cabral Libii closes the chapter with the party during a pre-election period often marked by negotiations and the positioning of political figures. Individuals often change sides to find a new platform for expression and action that allows them to achieve certain objectives. Currently, the PCRN and its president Cabral Libii are more than ever facing numerous obstacles marked by successive resignations of leaders and virulent criticism from other opposition parties.
