Faced with the urgency, the government is launching an interministerial response.

The figures are striking. Between January 2019 and June 2026, 656 events were recorded, more than half in Douala and 45% in Yaoundé-Nsimalen. Eighteen caused damage to aircraft and major flight disruptions. 95% of collisions occur during the critical phases of approach and takeoff.
The CCAA presented its wildlife studies, with mapping of species at risk: Black kite, Cattle egret, Crested eagle, and African palm civet.

The Minister called for interinstitutional synergy involving local authorities and administrative bodies, recalling that this prevention is a strategic imperative for public safety and airport competitiveness.
