For the first time since the creation of the Senate in 1996 and its inauguration in 2013, the congress is meeting to amend certain provisions of the fundamental law. A vote following which expectations abound among Cameroonians at the start of the seven-year term that President Paul Biya has just obtained.
The president of the congress links the spirit of the draft constitutional revision submitted to the congress to the commitment of the President of the Republic to remain at the service of his country and Cameroonians. It is also in line with the call for a sacred union launched by President Paul Biya during his inauguration speech on November 06, 2025. The reason for the modification of certain provisions of the Constitution appears from the opening speech of the president of the congress.
