Cameroon: the presidency orders the release of nearly 500 million F for the benefit of the national teams

The Head of State has instructed the release of this fund for the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education, which will serve the needs of the national football teams.

The U20 national football team and the Indomitable Lionesses will benefit from a financial envelope amounting to 491,393,287 CFA francs. The funds are made available to the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education. They are dedicated to the preparation and participation of the national teams in competitions. The information is contained in a letter from the Minister of State, Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic, Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh.

The document indicates the distribution of funds specifying that the U20 Lions engaged in the Central African Football Federations’ Union tournament – Uniffac -, qualifying for the next U20 Africa Cup of Nations, are entitled to 203,182,672 FCFA. In recent days, as part of the preparation for this competition, Yvan Kenmoe’s charges have been holding multiple training camps to improve their play.

The Indomitable Lionesses, who are currently competing in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, benefit from 288,210,615 FCFA. The Cameroonians won their first group match last Wednesday against the Malian team (2-1).

According to the letter from the SGPR, the Minister of Finance Louis Paul Motaze will make the funds available to the Mindep, which will report on their use. Note that part of the money will only be used based on the performances displayed by teams in the various competitions.
