The activist and member of the national communication cell of the National Union for Democracy and Progress resigns from the party effective August 25, 2026. He says he refuses to continue being led by “losers”.
After 12 years of activism with the Undp, it’s over. Faced with a political party “without horizon, without perspective,” Léonide Mfoum found no other option but to submit his resignation. Explaining his departure by reasons related to the Undp’s failure in the 2025 presidential election, he points to party leaders who refuse debate, questioning, reflection, and criticism. This would be the cause of the result obtained in the October 12, 2025 election. Giving candidate Bello Bouba Maigari 4th place with 2.45% of the votes cast. “An average of half out of 20,” a “Fail” grade for the party leaders, according to the activist.
