Nearly a year after the 2025 presidential election in Cameroon, Denis Emilien Atangana congratulates himself for having refused the endorsement to the rejected candidate Maurice Kamto in exchange for an offer of 100 million CFA francs. The president of the FDC makes a brief illustrated post this Thursday to affirm that refusing 100 million allowed him “to stay alive and continue the real fight for change and not replacement”.

The politician talks about life by referring to the death of Christian Penda Ekoka, Paul Eric Kingue, and Anicet Ekane. Influential political actors who died after having worked with Prof. Maurice Kamto during sensitive moments of national political life.
Facing criticism and looking back at recent history, Denis Emilien Atangana also demonstrates in another post that his party, the FDC, is above the MRC. According to him, the MRC is only a “community pressure group” compared to the FDC which is “a serious political party” present within the institutions.

However, the seriousness of this party is often questioned by the opposition which recognizes in the FDC a guilty closeness with the regime and with the ruling party. Its leader was one of the first political officials to congratulate President Paul Biya for his re-election in October 2025. Also, the successive statements of the party leader at a time when the MRC is at odds with the Minister of Territorial Administration raise questions. They tend to confirm the thesis that the FDC is one of the creations of the governing system intended to weaken parties that are virulent in their opposition to power.
