Inaugurated on May 29 by the Minister of Decentralization and Local Development, Georges Elanga Obam, in the presence of administrative authorities, regional elites among others, the new town hall is the result of a project carried out over 12 years. Initiated by Dieudonné Samba, the first government delegate to the urban community of Bertoua. It was continued by Alphonse Wouamane Mbele, the second government delegate, before being completed by the current mayor Jean Marie Dimbélé Sodea. For FEICOM, the main financier of the project, this building illustrates its mission “to support local authorities towards harmonious, inclusive, and sustainable development.” It is part of the signs of modernization of the regional capital of the East.
