The Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicrafts continues its campaign to attract young entrepreneurs. Through its Manyu departmental delegation, it organized a capacity-building day on September 4, 2026, at the Mamfe City Hall.

Under the theme “Youth Empowerment for Agro-Food Processing: A Lever for Import Substitution,” the activity aimed to equip young people with practical skills for their socio-economic integration.
The 401 participants from various neighborhoods of Mamfe were trained in three promising sectors: fruit juice production, Overtea manufacturing, and chocolate production. In a locality rich in fruits, cocoa, and palm oil, the challenge is to locally process raw materials to create added value and income.

Beyond technical know-how, the political message is clear: encourage self-employment as a response to youth unemployment in the South-West region, marked by the security crisis.
This action follows training organized on March 6, 2026, for women and young girls. MINPMEESA already announces the next steps: new large-scale training sessions are planned for November 2026 as part of the 8th edition of Global Entrepreneurship Week in Mamfe, Upper Bayang, and Eyumojock, with a focus on innovation and access to public funding.
