
H.E. Abdallah Boukemmache met on April 27, 2026, with the President of the National Assembly of Cameroon, Théodore Datouo, in anticipation of the upcoming Cameroon-Algeria joint commission.
Bilateral cooperation between Cameroon and Algeria and inter-parliamentary cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries were at the heart of the audience granted by the President of the National Assembly of Cameroon to the Algerian diplomat last Monday. As part of strengthening bilateral relations between Cameroon and Algeria, forged since 1964, the two personalities discussed the prospect of holding the Cameroon-Algeria joint commission. Preparations for this meeting are progressing. A session is planned for this purpose in Yaoundé before the end of this year.

President Théodore Datouo and his guest also discussed inter-parliamentary cooperation, addressing several areas of development. These include, among others, the revitalization of friendship groups, the intensification of expertise exchanges, and visits by parliamentarians. During the meeting, the President of the National Assembly of Cameroon reaffirmed his institution’s commitment to supporting all initiatives aimed at consolidating cooperation relations between Cameroon and Algeria.
The two countries maintain relations in the educational, security, infrastructure, and transport sectors. This meeting thus aims to strengthen these relations by enhancing their quality for the benefit of the development of both states and the well-being of their populations.
