
The announcement comes from the Ministry of Territorial Administration of Cameroon, where the Chinese Ambassador H.E. XU YONG was received in audience on April 27, 2026.
The People’s Republic of China is making a food donation to the Republic of Cameroon. The said offer is valued at 20 million R.M.B, or approximately 1,637,000,000 FCFA. The donation consists mainly of rice and will be transported to the port of Douala in the coming months, informs the Ministry of Territorial Administration of Cameroon.
Listed among China’s projects in Cameroon, the said donation was discussed on April 27, 2026, at the Ministry of Territorial Administration, between Minister Paul ATANGA NJI and Chinese Ambassador XU YONG. On behalf of President Paul BIYA, the Minister thanked the Chinese diplomat for this gesture of humanity from the friendly country with which Cameroon has maintained diplomatic relations for over 50 years.
While awaiting the arrival of the announced cargo of food products on Cameroonian soil, the government member assures that his ministry is already setting up teams for the distribution of these products as soon as possible. In the same vein, Ambassador XU YONG thanked the Minister for his assistance in the successful execution of this project. Which is another sign of the vitality of relations between China and Cameroon.
