
The Pakistani army announced on Thursday that at least 216 terrorists were killed as security forces concluded an anti-terrorism operation in the province of Balochistan (southwest).

Furthermore, 22 members of the security and law enforcement forces, as well as 36 civilians, were killed during attacks carried out by terrorists, the army reported in a statement.
According to the statement, this operation began on January 29, following verified information indicating the presence of terrorists posing an imminent threat to the local population. Security forces subsequently repelled a series of attacks carried out by the Balochistan Liberation Army, an illegal organization.

Subsequently, an expanded intelligence-based campaign of operations was launched in several regions to dismantle dormant terrorist cells through sustained mopping-up and clearing efforts. A significant cache of weapons, ammunition, explosives, and other foreign-origin equipment was discovered during these operations.
