While the party leader, Issa Tchiroma Bakary, firmly stated that his political party would not participate in the elections, Me Alice Nkom, his spokesperson, announces a reversal of the situation.
The Front for the National Salvation of Cameroon is playing the card of its survival in this period preceding the legislative and municipal elections. The party is hesitating between participating in the ballots, ensuring its presence in the councils and assembly, and not participating, thus signing its progressive disappearance from the scene at a time when its popularity seems to have increased.

This latter scenario, first brandished by the national leader of the party from his exile in Gambia, has just been mitigated by a statement from Me Alice Nkom, his spokesperson. She, during a speech widely shared in a video on the web, addresses the militants of the FSNC who are committed to defeating the Rally of the Cameroonian People (Rdpc) in certain electoral constituencies.
The lawyer essentially says she spoke with Issa Tchiroma Bakary about the fact that some party members are committed to reclaiming the power of the town halls from the Rdpc by participating in the elections. And that the opponent to the Yaoundé regime, who had been firm on boycotting the elections, says he perfectly understands the situation, as if giving the green light to those who want to enter the race.

The strategy being to “tip the scales to the detriment of the Rdpc,” Alice Nkom expresses a certain alignment with the functioning of the State and the political evolution of the country. There is no question of remaining indifferent to the electoral wind that is blowing and that nothing can stop. “We are mobilized. We cannot be on the sidelines of what is happening,” she declared. Displaying a certain confidence and assurance towards the militants of the FSNC, she knows she can count on their commitment. “We are capable,” she concluded.
The exchanges between Me Alice Nkom and a delegation of FSNC militants signal a reversal of the party’s situation regarding the upcoming electoral deadlines. However, the word from the national leader of the party is still awaited on the matter. Some militants have not yet understood the party’s final position at a time when its destiny is being played out on the obstinate resistance born from the claim of victory of its leader in the presidential election of October 12, 2026.
