Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Monday that the head of its intelligence service, Majid Khademi, was killed in a US-Israeli attack.
In a statement published on its official website Sepah News, the IRGC said Mr. Khademi “became a martyr during a terrorist attack by the American and Israeli enemies” early Monday.

Majid Khademi is described as a “powerful and educated” general, who “sincerely and courageously” protected Iran and its 1979 Islamic revolution by holding various positions in intelligence and security.
He had been appointed head of IRGC intelligence last June after his predecessor, Mohammad Kazemi, was killed during the twelve-day war against Israel.
Furthermore, the Israeli army announced in a statement that it had killed the head of IRGC intelligence in an airstrike in Tehran.

It describes Majid Khademi as “one of the highest-ranking commanders of the IRGC, having accumulated vast military and security experience over many years.”
On February 28, Israel and the United States launched joint attacks against Tehran and several other Iranian cities, killing Ali Khamenei, the then supreme leader, as well as high-ranking military commanders and civilians. Iran responded by launching waves of missile and drone strikes targeting Israel and US assets in the Middle East.
