Public, semi-public, and private companies located in Cameroonian industrial zones are ordered to settle their rental arrears.

The Industrial Zones Development and Management Mission (MAGZI) set a deadline of May 30, 2026, for the companies concerned, under penalty of termination of their lease agreements.

The Industrial Zones Development and Management Mission (MAGZI) is taking a tough stance against companies with unpaid debts in Cameroon’s industrial zones. In a statement signed on May 15, 2026, in Yaoundé, its director general, Christol Georges Manon, calls on the companies concerned to promptly regularize their rental debts.

The document targets companies accused of owing MAGZI “significant sums of money” for overdue and unpaid fees. The public agency urges them to honor their contractual commitments no later than May 30, 2026.

The threat is clearly stated: beyond this deadline, offenders face termination of their lease agreements. This measure could weaken the activity of several operators established in the country’s main industrial zones.

In total, 29 companies are mentioned in the statement. Twelve are located in the Bassa industrial zone in Douala, including African Pool, Laboratoire Biopharma, Batimetal, and Futura Industries. Seven others operate in Bonabéri, where Camtel, Solevo, and Sanaga Boissons s/l are notably present. In Yaoundé, ten companies are concerned, including Baticonfort, Fruitscam, Les Grandes Éditions, and Yao Pharm.

By choosing to publish this list by name, MAGZI is relying on a public pressure strategy to accelerate debt recovery. However, the institution does not specify either the total amount of arrears or the age of the debts, leaving questions about the actual scale of the dispute.
