ONACC strengthens SODECOTON’s capacities on the use of climatological services.
From September 1 to 8, 2026, the National Observatory on Climate Change organizes a series of workshops for the benefit of SODECOTON staff in the Far North regions (Maroua 1 & 2, Kaélé, Tchatibali, and Guider) and the North (Garoua 1 & 2, Ngong, Touboro, and Mayo-Galké).

The official launch ceremonies took place simultaneously in Maroua and Garoua on September 1, 2026. The Director General of ONACC, Prof. Joseph Armathé Amougou, chaired the one in Garoua, while the Deputy Director General, Forghab Patrick Mbomba, chaired the one in Maroua.

The objective is to strengthen participants’ skills in using dekadal, seasonal bulletins and specific agricultural calendars produced by ONACC, in order to improve advisory support to producers and agricultural decision-making.
This activity is part of the partnership signed between ONACC and SODECOTON in 2025, and contributes to strengthening agroclimatic monitoring and promoting more resilient agriculture.
