In the third quarter of 2025, foreign trade recorded a clear recovery, driven by goods exports. According to the National Institute of Statistics, overall exports increased by 14.3% compared to the previous quarter, due to a marked rise in goods (+22.5%), which offset the decline in services (-20.5%).
In detail, the dynamic is largely supported by crude oil, which jumped by 37.4%. Export agricultural products (+15.8%) and sawn timber (+9.6%) also contributed to this improvement. In contrast, logs and certain products from agricultural processing showed underperformance, partially slowing the overall momentum.

Despite this cyclical upturn, the annual trend remains downward. Compared to the third quarter of 2024, goods exports fell by 9.1%, while services increased slightly (+2.4%). In total, goods and services exports contracted by 6.9% year-on-year.

This contrast between quarterly recovery and annual decline illustrates a still fragile recovery, dependent on raw materials and exposed to international market fluctuations.
