Elements of the Obala gendarmerie brigade stopped the flight of the alleged murderers in the cities of Bafoussam and Yaoundé.
Michel Tekam Tchuisson, aged 35, Collins Tchoungang, 43, and Hervé Tanga Tsimi, 30, have been in the hands of law enforcement since March 25, 2026. Elements of the Obala gendarmerie brigade apprehended them a few days after the murder of Dr Assoguena Fouda, an anesthesiologist, head of emergency services at Obala district hospital.

According to information from the investigation, the trio of suspects is being questioned about acts they allegedly committed from the victim’s home, who was found dead on March 17 at her residence. Where Michel Tekam Tchuisson worked as a caretaker and the latter’s wife worked as a housemaid. The movements of this couple caught the attention of investigators and showed the trail to follow.
Some time before the commission of the acts, the caretaker’s wife left the workplace with her child shortly after receiving her monthly salary. Following her departure, her husband posted a notice for the sale of his employer’s vehicle online. He was organizing to seize the said vehicle. The day after the posting, having prepared his plan, he allegedly attacked the lady who was returning from the school where she had gone to drop off the child.

After the act, the suspects took the lady’s vehicle. The latter was found in Yaoundé. Hervé Tanga Tsimi, who was in possession of this vehicle, was arrested in the Omnisports district. Michel Tekam Tchuisson, for his part, headed west. During the search, the gendarmes located him in the city of Bafoussam where he was arrested, along with his accomplice Collins Tchoungang. As part of the ongoing investigation, they are all being questioned at the gendarmerie.
