
The wife of the politician imprisoned in the context of the post-election crisis does not intend to let the journalist go unpunished following publications claiming that weapons, ammunition, and drugs were found at their home.
Mrs. Makini Tchameni is launching a legal offensive against journalist Bruno Bidjang, head of DB Agency and former media director of the Anecdote group. During a press conference she gave on March 11 alongside family lawyer Me Alice Nkom, the wife of Djeukam Tchameni announced the filing of a complaint against the media man and assured that the latter, in the event of denial by Cameroonian jurisdictions, will answer for defamation before jurisdictions outside the country. “Even if the courts here in Cameroon act as if they do not know justice, I will pursue him outside Cameroon. Whether in Africa, America, or Europe. Because what he did can be judged anywhere in the world”.

Before the press, Mrs. Makini Tchameni, wife of Djeukam Tchameni, recalled that following the arrest of her husband on October 24, 2025, the journalist published on his Facebook page that the search carried out at the home and school of the Djeukam Tchameni family led to the seizure of weapons, ammunition, drugs, and many other pieces of equipment intended for a certain destabilization operation. This is what the lady describes as “high defamation” and she ensures she will not let go because these lies published since October 24, 2025, discredit the Djeukam family and their school.
On October 24, 2025, the journalist brought to the public’s attention via Facebook that Djeukam Tchameni and Anicet Ekane had been arrested in Douala and that military equipment and fake election reports had been discovered. According to him, the operation carried out resulted in the seizure of a large batch of documents, a box of blank Elecam reports, as well as military equipment intended to support a rebellion”.

Mrs. Djeukam expressed her commitment before the courts on March 11, while a complaint dated February 23, 2026, has already been filed with the president of the Yaoundé Ekounou Court of First Instance.
