Two press releases with different tones from two institutions operating in the same sector present the dangers of Body Filler, the illegality of the practice by an influencer, and one announces legal proceedings.

The publication on social networks of videos and photos of aesthetic procedures aimed at enlarging certain parts of the body and the reactions that follow provoke a response from the Ministry of Public Health and the National Order of Physicians of Cameroon. The ONMC highlights the illegality of the practice. The Order indicates that complaints have been filed notably against Manuela Nimpa. She is known as an influencer under the pseudonym Croqueuse de diamants. She is accused of performing invasive acts, Body Filler injections outside the applicable legal framework.

The Order’s approach aims to open an investigation to verify the facts and establish responsibilities based on the laws of the Republic. Upon reading the Order’s communication, the person concerned is not recognized as a legally authorized professional. She is not registered on the Order’s roll. Therefore, she is not authorized to administer Body Filler injections.

Such medical and aesthetic acts performed outside the legal and ethical framework expose people to health risks. The Minister of Public Health returns to these risks in his statement of July 16, 2026, not without denouncing the illegality surrounding the practice. Manaouda Malachie first recalls that the injection of body filler products must be carried out by duly qualified professionals. And in authorized health facilities in compliance with the law. Any offender is subject to legal proceedings.

Without however taking legal action for possible sanctions against Croqueuse de diamants, the government member turns to the public to list the “serious risks” related to Body Filler. Unapproved products administered by unqualified persons can cause severe infections, allergic reactions, deformities and chronic pain, migration of the product in the body, tissue necrosis, complications that can be life-threatening.

The minister also urges the population to be vigilant, to consult qualified surgeons if needed. He reassures that the ministry’s services are conducting checks regarding the illegality of the Body Filler practice. He promises administrative and judicial sanctions. Whether a simple communication act to reassure public opinion or the announcement of a rigorous procedure, the public will be informed gradually.
