The handing over of the check is the fulfillment of the promise made by the President of the National Assembly on July 25, 2026. It was during the grand thank-you meeting to the President of the Republic for the election of Deputy Théodore Datouo as head of the National Assembly office. In his speech that day, the president of the lower house of parliament, thanking the meeting organizers and all participants, announced the mobilization of still available resources to finance a humanitarian project benefiting the populations of the West region, and even Cameroon. According to him, this donation is thus an act of attachment to the values of sharing and serving the populations.
