Faced with the worrying situation of the Association Sportive Bamboutos de Mbouda, the Minister of Public Works, an elite figure from the Bamboutos department, has decided to take the lead. In a strong initiative, he has invited Justin Blaise Tagouh, former honorary president of the club, as well as the vital forces of the department, for a consultation scheduled for February 4, 2026, in his ministerial office.

For the minister, Bamboutos FC remains a fundamental symbol: “The sports association Bamboutos de Mbouda is a tool for bringing people together, the highlight of our unity, and an instrument of our common solidarity.” Observing the repeated shocks that are weakening the club, he calls for collective mobilization to preserve its influence and the image of the Bamboutos department.
The announced meeting aims to lay the groundwork for a sustainable revival. The agenda includes the presentation of the general and financial situation of the club, the examination of preparatory measures for honorable and victorious participation in the national championship, the study of rational management mechanisms, as well as the raising of financial contributions to support the club.
This initiative comes in a particularly critical sporting context. For their entry into Elite Two on January 31, 2026, against Avion Academy, Bamboutos de Mbouda experienced a real organizational debacle. The club presented itself with only eight players, without a coach on the bench, due to a lack of licenses. After fifteen minutes of play, two players were stretchered off, reducing the squad to six players, including the goalkeeper. In accordance with the regulations, the referee ended the match.

This crisis also follows the resignation of Justin Blaise Tagouh, announced on March 20, 2025. In his statement, he declared: “After several years of commitment and dedication to Bamboutos Football Club de Mbouda, I have decided to resign from my position as honorary president.”
More than ever, the future of Bamboutos FC seems to depend on a collective response, commensurate with its history and its place in Cameroonian football.
