The Minister of Arts and Culture unveiled a new roadmap at the National Museum marked by major innovations to accelerate the structuring of the artistic and cultural movement and modernize the organization of the National Arts and Culture Day.
The Ministry of Arts and Culture of Cameroon (MINAC) is taking a decisive turn in 2026. During a strategic meeting with central services staff on February 25, 2026, the minister announced the transition to the operational phase of the major sector structuring reform, made possible by the law of July 20, 2020.
Among the major innovations this year: the establishment of specialized technical sub-committees, responsible for intervening directly in the field; the development of harmonized normative tools to oversee memberships and the functioning of federations; and the acceleration of the national inventory of living cultural heritage through an updated methodology.

Another notable advancement: the reinforced integration of cultural and creative industries into the national strategy, with an approach oriented towards professionalization, international visibility, and easier access to financing. The National Arts and Culture Day will also see a redesigned, more inclusive, and structured organization.
By mobilizing all its staff around operational committees, MINAC intends to give a new impetus to the Cameroonian cultural sector and sustainably place art and culture at the heart of national development.
