By highlighting professionals who respect the highest standards of the profession, the prize aims to contribute to the continuous improvement of the national media landscape.
Each winner will receive a financial reward of 500,000 CFA francs, offered by the Ministry of External Relations in partnership with Merdolf Sarl, a company committed to supporting media development.
The procedure for designating the winners will take place from March 2 to 9, 2026, through phone calls and messages from listeners during the annual Commonwealth Radio Quiz, broadcast on the programs “Luncheon Date” and “The Mid-Morning Show” on CRTV. A jury chaired by Mr. Peter Essoka will then proceed with the final selection.
The general public is invited to participate massively in this first edition of the Peter Essoka Prize for Excellence in Journalism, which promises to be a major event for the recognition of merit in the media sector in Cameroon.
