H.E. Veronika Boskovic Pohar presented the facsimile copies of her letters of credence to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cameroon on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.
The designated ambassador, head of the European Union delegation to Cameroon, presented on Wednesday the facsimile copies of her letters of credence to the Minister Delegate to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of cooperation with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu. This took place during a ceremony that gave the two personalities the opportunity to revisit the cooperation between Cameroon and the European Union and to discuss the socio-political situation in Cameroon.

Successor to H.E. Jean Marc Châtaigner who completed his mission at the end of last August, the new ambassador expressed her determination to collaborate with the Cameroonian authorities to achieve the objectives set for her. A career diplomat, before her appointment to Cameroon, she served as head of the European Union delegation in Afghanistan since September 1, 2024. She has 20 years of experience in security policy, multilateral relations, and the European Union’s foreign policy.
She combines training and experience in crisis management, consular relations, and defense coordination. Between September 2020 and August 2024, Veronika served as ambassador representing the Political and Security Committee at the European Union’s permanent representation in Slovenia. In the same country, she worked as deputy head of the Slovenian mission in France and the Kingdom of Morocco.
