Gathered in Yaoundé, the first National Forum on Road Safety places technological innovation at the heart of the fight against accidents.

Cameroon is taking a step forward in its road safety policy. On April 29, 2026, the Minister of Transport, Jean Ernest Masséna Ngallè Bibèhè, opened in Yaoundé the very first National Forum dedicated to this cause, under the ambitious theme of artificial intelligence applied to the road. For two days, public decision-makers, experts, transporters, and technical partners share their analyses to sustainably reduce road insecurity.
Beyond the symbol, the initiative is based on tangible observations. Between 2011 and 2024, the country almost halved the number of accidents and significantly reduced injuries and deaths. This progress is attributed to strengthened controls, improved infrastructure, and better victim care.
