
The University of Bertoua launched, on July 21, 2026, the first edition of the Scientific, Sporting and Cultural Excellence Fair (FESSCUBe). For five days, the event highlights the academic, sporting and cultural performances of students, with the ambition of becoming a lasting fixture in the national university landscape.
The University of Bertoua officially launched, on Monday, July 21, 2026, the first edition of FESSCUBe. The opening ceremony, presided over by the rector, Professor Dieudonné Emmanuel Pegnyemb, took place in the presence of the governor of the East region, Grégoire Mvongo, as well as numerous administrative, traditional and academic authorities.

After the official speeches, activities began on the sports fields with the inaugural football match won 2 goals to 0 by the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences against the Higher Institute of Agriculture, Wood, Water and Environment.
The dignitaries then toured the fair village where training offers, student innovations, artisanal products and culinary specialties were exhibited. This showcase of university expertise attracted a large audience, with over 4,000 visitors on the first day. The organizers hope to exceed 12,000 visitors before the closing, scheduled for July 25.

Sports competitions, scientific contests, exhibitions, conferences and shows will punctuate this first edition. Through FESSCUBe, the University of Bertoua intends to make student excellence, innovation and creativity a real lever for regional influence.
