Driven by a results-oriented strategy and strengthened cooperation with its partners, the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training is intensifying its reforms. Between the development of green jobs, digitalization of training, and closer ties with the private sector, the goal is to better meet the needs of the labor market.
The Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training (MINEFOP) continues the transformation of its youth training and integration system. Gathered on July 9, 2026, around the interim minister, Mounouna Foutsou, the main officials and partners reviewed the progress of reforms included in the 2020-2030 National Development Strategy (SND30) and the National Employment Policy.
The discussions, enriched by recommendations from senior evaluator Johnny Ndayishimiye, confirmed the acceleration of several key projects. The Green Jobs Promotion Program is expanding with the training of 1,000 young people from the Soa municipality in sustainable trades and the updating of ecological microproject directories.
MINEFOP is also focusing on modernizing training engineering through the approval of educational frameworks, the generalization of the Competency-Based Approach, and the deployment of Open and Distance Learning (FOAD), aimed at more than 6,000 trainers in the public sector.
Another priority is strengthening the partnership with the private sector to adapt training to the real needs of companies. This dynamic relies on the structuring of professional branches and digital tools such as Inserjeune and the Déclic project. Supported by a budget execution deemed satisfactory, this strategy reflects MINEFOP’s commitment to providing Cameroon with a qualified human capital capable of supporting the country’s economic and environmental transition.
