The first buildings of the second series of infrastructures of the university institution received the blessing of the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education, Jacques Fame Ndongo, on August 5, 2026. This was shortly before the opening of the first edition of the National Finals of university games.
The University of Ebolowa, one of the three state universities created on January 5, 2022 by the Head of State, is strengthening the establishment of its infrastructures. On the 87-hectare site designated to house the physical components of the institution, new infrastructures are ready. They consist of two administrative blocks equipped with offices and meeting rooms. They also contain a 500-seat amphitheater, five offices for teachers, five toilet blocks, and a technical room.

The Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education Jacques Fame Ndongo carried out the symbolic ribbon cutting in front of these buildings last Wednesday. They will be put into service as of the next academic year. Their inauguration took place on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the first edition of the National Finals of university games (FINAJU).
They have been taking place since yesterday, Wednesday, at the multisport complex of the University of Ebolowa, another newly constructed infrastructure. They bring together about 2000 athletes from nine state universities and private higher education institutes. Under the theme “University sport, catalyst for entrepreneurship and social inclusion for the emergence of Cameroon,” FINAJU 2026 is marked by excellence, unity, and living together.

In opening the competition, the Minister of State Minesup urged the leaders of the University of Ebolowa to make the multisport complex a revenue-generating activity, a university enterprise. For the first time, Ebolowa and its university host the university sports festival in its new format. Until August 9, athletes will compete in several disciplines to win medals at stake. Beyond the competition, they reveal the level of construction of the brand new institutions created in Cameroon.
