Former mayor of Kiyè-Ossi, he passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026, in Yaoundé.

The former director of the Cameroon Shipyard and Industrial Engineering Company and former mayor of Kiyè-Ossi has died. For 24 hours now, the nation has lost one of its sons who served it at various levels in recent decades. Combining politics and strategy, he made an impression during his time on earth in the management of strategic resources, his contribution to the industrial sector, not to mention his involvement, challenges met and missed in politics.

After training in financial management, Antoine Bikoro Alo’o began his career in 1985 at the National Hydrocarbons Corporation. Entering through the main door, he progressed within the company and gained the trust of the hierarchy, who appointed him financial director, then director of budget and control. Thus, at SNH, he participated in the management of strategic oil resources for the country’s development for over 20 years.



Experienced and accumulating skills in the industrial and financial fields, another act of appointment led him to the Cameroon Shipyard and Industrial Engineering Company. Appointed Deputy General Manager in 2007, he managed financial affairs there, remaining in his preferred field, while assisting the General Manager. His contribution to the development of the national economy is also reflected in his appointment as a member of the boards of directors of certain companies.

A dynamic man, his influence also extended to politics. A well-known figure of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, Antoine Bikoro Alo’o was elected mayor of Kiyè-Ossi in 2007. Always aiming for an even higher level of responsibility, he aspired to lead the Southern Regional Council. His two attempts in 2020 and 2025 were unsuccessful. But he remains one of the prominent personalities of the Southern region over the past three decades.
