The Apostolic Nunciature in Cameroon invites the Christian faithful not to be deceived by fraudsters.

On the occasion of Pope Leo XIV’s visit to Cameroon, some opportunistic agencies are offering to facilitate access for the faithful to the masses that the sovereign pontiff will celebrate by selling tickets or seats. However, the Catholic Church in Cameroon provides assurances to the Christian community regarding the free access to said celebrations. In a press release dated March 16, 2026, the Apostolic Nunciature in Cameroon informs that access to all the Pope’s liturgical celebrations in Yaoundé, Douala, and Bamenda will be free.

The Nunciature specifies that no sale of tickets or seats is authorized to participate in these celebrations. Consequently, the faithful are invited not to be deceived by any private initiative aimed at charging for access to the papal celebrations. It invites all Christians from all Christian communities and people of good will to focus on the spiritual preparation for this event through prayer, liturgical celebrations, times of adoration, catechesis, and reconciliation processes.

During his first tour in Africa at the invitation of heads of state, Pope Leo XIV will make an apostolic visit to Cameroon from April 15 to 18, 2026. This visit will take him to three cities in the country, namely Yaoundé, Douala, and Bamenda. In the three sites and at the national level, preparations continue to ensure a warm welcome for the successor of Saint Peter.
