Residents made the macabre discovery on January 30, 2026, at the Nghomgham crossroads in the city of Bamenda, announced Cameroon News Agency.

Two lifeless bodies were discovered this morning in the city of Bamenda. The bodies of unidentified men were found on the ground, bearing gunshot wounds. Testimonies from residents reported by the news agency indicate that gunshots were not heard in the vicinity during the night.

The presence of these lifeless bodies in this context leads residents to believe that these men were killed elsewhere before being transported to the Nghomgham crossroads. The agency specifies that at the time of making the information public, the two corpses were still present at the scene.

The shooting adds to the list of victims of the security crisis that has been shaking the North-West and South-West regions for 10 years. The armed conflict between separatist fighters and defense and security forces, as well as multiple attacks against civilian populations, has already resulted in over 6,000 deaths and 700,000 displaced people, according to UN figures.
