On Thursday, September 11, 2026, Belife Insurance Cameroon pulled out all the stops at the Palais de la Culture Sawa / Besseke in Douala.
Human capital is at the center of attention at Belife Insurance Cameroon today. 71 employees were awarded the Medal of Honor for Work during a ceremony presided over by the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Grégoire Owona, in the presence of administrative authorities, top management, and families.

A total of 90 distinctions were awarded to deserving employees with 10, 15, or 25 years of good and loyal service. These include seven gold medals (one for an executive committee member, six for staff), 37 vermeil medals (33 for staff and 4 for the executive committee), and 46 silver medals (40 for staff and 6 for committee members). The recipients come from various levels of the organization. They are financial advisors, collaborators, as well as members of management, the executive committee, and the board of directors. They meet criteria of seniority, professionalism, and dedication, the three criteria highlighted by top management.
Through the ceremony, Belife Insurance Cameroon values sustained professional commitment and loyalty within the company. For the Minister of Labor, these national distinctions honor the contribution of employees at all levels of the organization. The ceremony itself reflects the company’s commitment to building a culture of recognition, loyalty, and excellence. “The Medal of Honor for Work is a distinction that reflects the nation’s recognition of those who, through years of service, commitment, and contribution to their organization’s life, have participated in wealth creation and the development of our economy,” declared Minister Grégoire Owona.
He reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to promoting an authentic culture of merit, recognition, and appreciation of human capital in all companies operating in Cameroon. On behalf of the government, he congratulated all managers and staff of Belife Insurance S.A. and encouraged them with their means to maintain internal mechanisms to encourage and appreciate their personnel. To the recipients, the minister explained that their publicly recognized merit today also places on them the responsibility to become exemplary role models for the younger generation of workers and for employees who have not yet met the conditions required to receive this distinction.

For the third time after 2009 and 2021, the company organized a Medal of Honor for Work award ceremony. For the staff representative, Carine Ella, “receiving a work medal is not simply receiving a distinction. It is seeing a part of oneself recognized that has been given to an organization, a mission, a team. It is a symbol of rare and precious loyalty, especially in a constantly evolving professional environment.”
She advocates for such a ceremony to be held every five years. For the minister, this depends on the employees’ capacities and organizational and budgetary constraints.
