In a statement dated September 6, 2026, the departmental secretaries of the MRC Europe Region express “enlightened and clear-sighted” support for their elected national president, Maurice Kamto, the board, and the resolutions of the National Council of September 6, 2025.
Just over a year after Maurice Kamto was excluded from the presidential race of October 12, 2025, the Europe federation of the Movement for the Renaissance of Cameroon (MRC) breaks its silence.

In a two-page text signed collectively, the departmental leaders denounce what they call political-judicial harassment against their leader and the party.
“Our party, whose torch you have courageously and brilliantly carried since its creation, has always been the target of destabilizing acts by the ruling power and its proxies,” they write to Maurice Kamto.
The 2025 exclusion at the heart of the statement
The statement extensively addresses the invalidation of Maurice Kamto’s candidacy for the 2025 presidential election, officially confirmed on August 5, 2025, by the Constitutional Council after an initial rejection by ELECAM for “multiple endorsements” within MANIDEM.
For the signatories, this decision is the result of “a cybercrime act by MINAT” and a “state conspiracy” against the MRC. They notably cite two correspondences from the Ministry of Territorial Administration addressed to Mr. Thierry Okala Ebode, presented as a former militant excluded for betrayal, and to the party’s secretary general.
A counter-attack against the RDPC
The text reverses the accusation. The Europe secretaries recall that since July 2025, an RDPC militant has officially seized MINAT, Paul Atanga Nji, regarding the illegality of all the governing bodies of his own party, whose last Congress dates back to September 2011. This referral was then brought before the Mfoundi High Court to have the resolutions of the Political Bureau of November 3, 2016, declared “null and void.”

“Curiously, neither MINAT, an RDPC militant, nor the court president […] deemed it necessary to follow up on this referral,” the statement notes.
And it questions: “So why all this agitation from the RDPC and its state extensions against the MRC and its elected National President, which you are, when, without having finally organized its Congress […] all RDPC candidacies will logically be rejected?”
Focus on legislative and municipal elections
Beyond the denunciation, the message is a call to mobilization. The Europe leaders say they “fully trust the intelligence of the board members” and their president “to thwart the ongoing new wrongdoing by the power.”
They invite Maurice Kamto and the board to “stay focused on the essentials, the victorious preparation for the upcoming legislative and municipal elections” and call “all dynamic and courageous militants to persist, with you and against all odds.”
A statement concluding with a profession of faith in “the humanist, modernist, developed vision, based on merit, solidarity, the rule of law, and justice of the MRC,” carried according to them by a leader “loved by Cameroonians.”
