From September 1st to 2, 2026, education conferences are being held in the Nyong-et-So’o department under the supervision of Prefect Gille Christian Sadi. The work aims to put an end to misconduct in schools.
The city of Mbalmayo will host the education conferences of the Nyong-et-So’o department on September 1st and 2nd. Through this event, the organizers want to address the root causes of physical and psychological violence, harassment, sexual abuse, moral corruption, the crisis of civic values, the proliferation of drugs and psychotropic substances, the weakening of parental authority, as well as the breakdown of dialogue between teachers and families.

The sessions will take place at the auditorium of the National School of Water and Forests (ENEF) in Mbalmayo under the theme “Together, let’s make education the engine of development.” The conferences will bring together education specialists, teachers, administrative authorities, decentralized state services, local authorities, school promoters and managers, guidance counselors, civil society, students, parent associations. Not to mention social health services, law enforcement, judicial authorities, traditional chiefs, religious and community leaders.
The four challenges that form the pillars of the work are the protection of the physical and psychological integrity of students; the restoration of values and benchmarks; the preservation of youth health and future in the face of psychotropic products; the mobilization of parents in their role as primary educators.

The meeting aims to contribute to the sustainable improvement of the local education system through collective mobilization for a safe, healthy, inclusive, and effective school. It will thus be a question of identifying the factors that weaken school performance and relentlessly strengthening prevention and the fight against violence in schools; promoting civic and citizenship values among young generations; strengthening parental guidance and improving collaboration between parents and teachers.
During the conferences, the various actors will participate in plenary sessions, thematic communications, and general discussions. Other expected activities include the feedback of the work and the adoption of recommendations accompanied by an operational roadmap. A mechanism will be put in place for monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the recommendations.
