Big announcement for Cameroon’s energy sovereignty. On Friday, August 21, 2026, in Douala, the Cameroonian Petroleum Storage Company (SCDP) inaugurated three infrastructures that will change the game.
The ceremony, chaired by the Minister of Water and Energy, Gaston Eloundou Essomba, alongside the General Director of SCDP, Véronique Manzoua née Moampea Mbio, brought together administrative, traditional, and religious authorities.

The change is concrete for households. First, a new domestic gas sphere in Bonabéri. With +40% additional storage capacity, Cameroon protects itself from cooking gas shortages that penalize households.
