The MINEPIA and MAETUR signed a five-year agreement on August 20, 2026, to secure land and develop sites dedicated to pastoral and fishing activities. An agreement aimed at combining land expertise and technical support to boost animal production in Cameroon.
The Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries (MINEPIA), represented by its Minister Dr. TAÏGA, and the Mission for the Development and Equipment of Urban and Rural Lands (MAETUR), led by Mr. MANGA Louis Roger, signed a partnership and collaboration agreement on August 20, 2026, in Yaoundé.
The goal is to secure land and develop sites intended for the development of pastoral and fishing activities throughout the Cameroonian territory.

As part of this agreement, MAETUR commits to participating in the consultation framework established by MINEPIA. It will contribute to defining, planning actions, and supervising projects, while pooling efforts to achieve common objectives. Lasting five (05) years and renewable by tacit agreement, this convention aims for better land management and appropriate spatial development.
For MINEPIA, it is about removing one of the major obstacles to the development of sectors: access to land. For MAETUR, it is an opportunity to deploy its expertise in service of the rural world.

Through this alliance, the two institutions reaffirm their commitment to supporting the sustainable development of pastoral and fishing sectors and increasing the sector’s contribution to food security.
